DPOA
DPOA has been developed for the Wroclaw Medical University and enables to investigate the influence of selected pharmaceuticals on the hearing ability by measuring otoemission after the drug application.
Device is composed of three concurrent sine wave generators with adjustable frequency, amplitude and phase. In order to keep proper insulation between the channels on 120 dB level, generators are galvanically insulated. Generated tone is being transmitted to a calibrated earphone and a response signal from the inner ear, is being measured by a microphone. This signal, which is further transmitted from the microphone to the synchronous receiver that collets the data by a dedicated software application, gives the information on the quality of the hearing ability.
Created application enables also to define generators' work modes which allows to take series of measurements at a time. Measurement sample by sample was not efficient and made the whole measurement process impossible due to long time of setting up the measurement parameters individually for each sample. It caused extensive ear fatigue that weakened its response and changed measurement conditions. Thanks to our solution after defining all necessary series of parameters measurement time became negligible which gave objective results.
DPOA operation is being fully realized by an application working on a Windows platform. Device can be connected through the USB.
